Lesson No 42: Happy #TwentyPlenty!

I didn’t purpose to be in the space that I find myself in.  God plucked me from the path that I had set out for myself & set me on an alternative journey. At the start it all appeared somewhat ‘accidental’ but I know now that it was no accident, rather His design, His purpose for my life…

So now that I am here, these are my confessions…the lessons I am learning about being a woman in business, building an empire, one brick at a time…

“New year—a new chapter, new verse, or just the same old story? Ultimately, we write it. The choice is ours.”

Alex Morritt

Every successful individual has a story to tell about when they felt like giving up… when they felt as though they had nothing left in them to give.

I have learned that when times get tough, sometimes the best way forward is to just take one more step.

As I look back on 2019, I see a mix of sunshine & rain, and some of those rainy days had crazy thunderstorms. On days like that my prayer was simple – God, help me to take one more step. One step forward is one step closer to my goal.

The rainy days taught me just as much about myself as the sunny days did – maybe even more. And as I look ahead to 2020, I walk boldly because the God who carried me through 2019, has gone ahead of me & He will give me the strength, wisdom & grace I need to navigate 2020 successfully.

We have the opportunity to write our story.

I don’t know about you, but I intend to fully utilise this opportunity.  At the end of this year, I want to be able to say that I am closer to my goals than I am today, regardless of the detours, roadblocks & ‘snow-days’ that will come my way. I know it sounds like a cheesy soundbite, but I have learned that my attitude will determine my altitude. Who I am today & what I have achieved, has little to do with who I can become & what I can achieve!

“Your present circumstances don’t determine where you can go. They merely determine where you start.”

Nido Qubein

So – I am claiming it. #TwentyPlenty will be my portion!

Emotional Intelligence is being more aware, more intentionally & more purposeful.

Happy New Year!  Here’s to a FABULOUS year ahead, one filled with favour, blessing & adventure!
